Watch out for the Gruffalo

The Gruffalo, written by Julia Donaldson has been very popular with the children. Several of them have decided that he lives in the gully beside the kindergarten and comes out at night. They have created the most amazing games and dramatic play around the Gruffalo, making maps, painting pictures of him, making some Gruffalo prickles for their backs and making Gruffalo caves. They are full of exciting and imaginative ideas. Julia Donaldson has also written The Gruffalo's child which is another story that the children particularly like. Her writing is very clever, encouraging the children to think about possible outcomes for the characters.
